Before you get involved with all the various ways to fix the student, make
absolutely certain the instrument or mouthpiece isn't at fault. That means
you're going to have to play on her mouthpiece at least a little to make
sure it isn't a badly made mouthpiece that's causing the trouble.

Once that's eliminated, the other things that sometimes cause beginner
squeaks are too much reed/mouthpiece in the mouth and very occasionally a
student putting his/her tongue against the reed and keeping it there while
trying to blow a note. Usually this happens after you've tried to get the
student to tongue and he/she misunderstands your instructions.
