re the marching band discussion.
My brother has started his first conducting job with a marching band
after completing his bachelor of music degree. He posted a question to
the list a few weeks ago and was helped enormously. THANK YOU ALL VERY
MUCH!

His main test came from the clarinet / sax section playing flat and also
problems with the crappie school instruments the kids use. Some of
these kids don't have a teacher and don't know how to play even the most
basic stuff.
I directed him to Sneezy and he has been able to find information and
fingering charts and clarinet beginner tips etc.
these kids now have a real chance to do something musically in an area
in desert Australia which has n't even got a full time music teacher in
the school, let along instrumental tutors.
If you guys weren't out there helping through this list and Mark with
sneezy.... Yanco Agricultural High School would not have a music
program.
