I Have inherited an old Hawkes & Son Clarinet with 3 Broken keys and am
wondering if anyone could tell me if spares are available anywhere in
England?
I don't know much about clarinets but would like to repair and possibly
learn to play the above instrument ( A local Music shop has suggested just
polishing the instrument and hanging it on a wall as an ornament but this
seem a bit of a waste!). All of the good keys seem to change tone Ok when
blowing into it.
Also Does anyone know what it may be worth? I don't know what year it was
made but all keys have either XI or XII stamped into the underneath of them,
could this be the year in roman numerals (1911 and 1912)?
