Just a personal opinion - but don't worry, I am not going to invoke
another free for all on the value or lack of value regarding marching
bands.

As a professional performer, teacher, music educator and one who is
vitally interested in the development of young people and their musical
abilities/appreciation - and as one who has taught in the public schools,
grew up in a family in which both parents taught in the public schools,
and as one who attended a nationally acclaimed school and received all
degrees in music education - I have no problem with a discussion occurring
on Klarinet regarding marching bands. I only echo the above idea
regarding the discussion of formations and/or fund-raising, uniforms, and
other non-essential clarinet/music issues - try to find a way to discuss
those issues off the list if possible.
