I personally consider copyrights, music unions, music education, and
other such things to be related to clarinetists (and musicians in
general). I may not agree with some of the law (especially the length of
time & publishers that won't release copyrights but won't publish,
either) - but it's the law, and I'd like to keep Sneezy running. It's
more difficult than most would think. For instance:

As Lelia noted, I ask permission before publishing postings on the Web
site. Very recently I asked permission to put up a few very interesting
postings, but was denied (very politely, I must add). Why? Because the
author may be publishing material closely related to those postings in a
book soon and does not wish to cloud the copyright issue with their
publisher.

I had material on Sneezy when I inherited it that had been taken from
postings. I thought I had cleared all of it, but found out via an email
from one of David Pino's students that I had a couple of pages from
Pino's then out-of-print book online. A bit embarrassing! I took it off,
found David's email, and asked permission. He graciously gave
permission, and let me know when his reprinted book was available.

Asking permission isn't hard, along with taking "no" for an answer.
