My two cents on Klarinet "netiquette" (which is all it's really worth):

Off-topic a bit is fine, or we'd never get any levity on the board. There
_are_ peripheral discussion that are important to all of us, as beginners,
amateurs, or professionals. But ...

There are certain subjects that stray far afield; marching band _as a subject_
is one. Marching band as it applies to clarinets in particular and the problems
that marching brings upon clarinet(ist)s is very relevant; discussions on
whether or not marching band is "music" is peripherally relevant and brings
forth both flames & firehoses; discussing marching band formations is getting
way off topic and could bring about nuclear disassociation. But ...

This list is not moderated at all. It is anarchy in the best sense. So, be
prepared to take the flames when you stray too far.

Since I get to peek at the list of subscribers, I know that a number of well-
known professionals belong to the list or monitor the issues. Most, however,
just don't have the time to devote to keeping up with the list.

Cheers,
Mark Charette@-----.org
