Klarinet Archive - Posting 000903.txt from 1999/03

I find the method of calling the lowest 'C' on the piano C1 the easiest to
follow. The two books in my collection that contain a reference to a system
of note naming use the above method. They are:
Benade, Arthur H. "Fundamentals of Musical Acoustics."
Kostka, Stefan and Dorothy Payne "Tonal Harmony."
It is important that there be an agreement of what to use. And I look
forward to clearing this up so that we all know exactly what note(s) are
being referenced in an email.
