HELP!!!
Hi- I am an 18 yr old clarinet player who has been playing for about 5-6
yrs. I have had this reoccurring problem with throat tension that I just
can seem to get to completely go away. My teacher and I have tried
various things to try to get my throat to relax when I am practicing,
including taking very frequent breaks when I practice. I think the
problem all started in middle school band when our director would tell us
to "open our throat." I took that suggestion very seriously and forced
my throat to stay very open when I played, instead of allowing it to
open. I did not realize at the time what I was doing, but needless to
say, I was reinforcing a bad thing. ANY HELP OR SUGGESTIONS WOULD BE
VERY MUCH APPRECIATED !!! Thank you, thank you, thank you :)

Sincerely,
Erin Simmons
