I have an adjustable thumb rest. I think that since my hands are small
it should be actually unscrewed from the wood and moved up. But i don't
know if this will affect the tuning or not of the instrument it's self.
I have a buffet festival. My adjustable one has not really helped me
that much and i can't figure out why....

Having read the posts about the clarinet's weighing on the right thumb,
I now
have an opportunity to acquire an adjustable thumb rest from a friend
who
plays oboe. She doesn't need the thumb rest anymore. Does anyone know if
a
thumb rest for a Loree oboe will fit a Buffet R13 clarinet? Also, how
are
thumb rests installed? Do they go in the same location where the
original
thumb rest was or do you have to drill new holes to position the rest
properly
for maximum ergonomic benefit?
