Hi everyone,
Thanks for all the suggestions. I do have a clarinet teacher and I
have consulted with him. I just wanted more opinions on this issue. I know
that whatever I'm doing is wrong if it is hurting. It is obvious. I
mentioned that I wanted to try neckstraps to him (as suggested by you
guys) and he suggested the clarichord as well. So it must be a
really good strap. I will give it a shot.
The reason for my initial question was because I was working on the
Krommer's Cla. Concerto in Eb Op.36. 1st Mvmnt. I was getting so
frustrated that my fingers and my tongue are not together on some of those
running passsages. But it is getting better, as I kept reminding myself to
be very relaxed when approaching those passages.
Another question I have is, trills. I was wondering if I should start from
the top note instead of on the note for the trills on this piece. What is
the historical point of view on this? Do I start on the note? FYI,
Krommer's date is 1759-1831. Thanks for all the suggestions and replies. I
really appreciate it! :)
Soo
