"Rhapsody in Blue". I've never blacked out on clarinet, but playing bass
I've got to the point where my vision has started to close in and things
begin to go black, then my fingers and toes start to get pins and needles.
Happens on bari sax too! A trumpet playing friend of mine did actually
black out completely (funnily enough, it was Rhapsody in Blue") when he went
flying up a scale fast, loud and to a very high note. It wasn't a gradual
thing - one second he was there, the next he was out cold. Ten seconds
later, he came round again, happily without having dropped his instrument,
and continued to play.
