I am, among other things, a certified crime prevention practitioner. That
said, I have some slight knowledge of a reasonably new police science called
"crime prevention through environmental design," sometimes called "septed" for
short. Anyway, some shopping malls that have had a problem with too many "mall
rats" hanging around find that if they pipe in classical music, the kids
disperse. This might not be something that we WANT to know as musicians but
it's interesting just the same.
