Klarinet Archive - Posting 000572.txt from 1999/03

I notice once in a while that people leave Klarinet because of the volume of
messages and limited mailbox space.

Since Sneezy II (the machine Klarinet runs on) has plenty of space, I'm more
than willing to have "read-only" mailboxes on Sneezy. You'd post via your
regular mail account, but download messages via sneezy. I can keep lots of
messages around in your mailbox; no need to unsubscribe if you're leaving for
a week or 2.

It's a pretty painless thing to do in MSIE 4.0; I don't know about Netscape
Communicator. Eudora allows this kind of thing, too (pop your mail from
one machine, mail via another).

I do this exact thing for the php3 mailing list (about 3X the volume of
Klarinet messages) - I have a special account to collect the messages, and
download a thousand or so once a week.

Drop me a line if you'd like to have this service.

Cheers,
Mark Charette@-----.org
