Beside pliers Feree's sells a swedging tool that is a collet that grips the
tube around the whole surface. It is more expensive than pliers though. Not
all of the mechanism on a Buffet is hollow tubes. Some just have a hole in the
end that a tapered screw fits into. When they are loose you can turn the screw
in farther unless the hole is worn too much. In that case I put silver solder
in the end and redrill the hole. If you are unsure about whether you can do
the swedging I would check prices at a repair shop. Sometimes do-it-yourself
is false economy.
