I believe the procedure is called swaging but this is one that you probably
shouldn't try yourself (at least on a good clarinet) since a mistake can not
be easily fixed.

The mechanism may just need a good cleaning. I had an old Pan American with
loose, sloppy keywork and tightening the screws did not seem to work. I
dismantled the entire mechanism and cleaned all the screws, screw threads,
and the threaded portion of all the rods and posts. When I re-assembled the
instrument, the screws all went in more smoothly and completely. It got rid
of virtually all the slop in the mechanism. So it appears that prior to the
cleaning, the threads were just so dirty that the screws would not go in
completely. Anyway it is worth a try.
