Congress passed the laws. U.S. Customs had to enforce them. Blame Congress
and protectionist trade leglislation in effect at the time. I know 20 years
ago there were all sorts of restrictions on how many and what type of
trademarked items of a particular trademark owner could be imported...you
could only bring in "x" ounces of "y" perfume, for example. Ed Maurey's
comments on Buffet products sound like the same trademark restriction type
problem. Did the free trade legislation of the last 10 years or so change any
of this?
