I'm not making the argument that decentralization leads to amateurism. I'm
saying that where there is a demand a supply will be created.
Instrumentalists need professional repair people. Short term, as retailers
are undercut by wholesalers and die out, their 'repair' facilities will die
with them. But hopefully the demand will be met in some other way. We just
get to be the lucky ones living through the frustrating and messy transition.
