I live on a busy street with a grocery store around the corner, my work 8
minutes away (my wife's 20 minutes - increased by the 4 block walk from the
parking lot and 15 floor ride in the elevator), symphony and stage within
15 minutes... I really love it, and could never imagine not having those
things close by (would that I could ditch the care and just take the
subway...).
BTW, I grew up in a rural area where the drive to the grocery store (or
anywhere else) was an obligatory 1/2 hour.
