Subj: [kl] question about optimum ligature

Hello everyone. I just got the Vandoren ligature and both my teacher and I
think that my tone has greatly improved. Just one question: how come I can't
put the mouthpiece cap on if there's a reed under the ligature ? (the opening
in the cap isn't wide enough to accommodate both a ligature and a reed, just
the ligature). What kind I do to fix this .... use pliers to reshape the
metal mouthpiece cap ? Get a plastic mouthpiece cap ? Besides that little
annoyance I love this ligature.
