Hello,

I am new to the list and really appreciate the hints for the E Flat. I
have played the B Flat for many years and just decided to buy a used E
Flat. Originally it was to be for fun, but I have taken it to practice
for my community band and I like it. The Director seemed to welcome it
also. I 've already done what was warned on a previous post. I worked
so hard to not be flat that I get sharp. Also, I have noticed that it
is very sensitive to change. And yes, you do feel like you have a
continuous solo. I mentioned this to my director , the fact that I feel
that everyone can here me, and he responed "They can!" He explained,
that was the point, it was a "color" insturment. It was supposed to be
heard.
Well, if I am going to be heard I want to make sure it is worth
listeneing to. It is a student model Bundy. It came with a Vandoren
2rv MP, I use Vandoren 3 reed. I probably wouldn't go with the hand
faced MP, so what is the best MP that can be purchased from BW&WW for
example? Also, someone mentioned a good book for E Flats. It included
fingerings. Are there any different fingering for the E Flat compared
to the B Flat? I haven't noticed any yet. Of course maybe I am
fingering something incorrectly and blaming it on intonation! Any other
info on the E Flat will be appreciated.

Robert
