I would extend your advice to "never touch a girl" to "never touch anyone,
period". It shouldn't ever be necessary, in my view. In all my years of
music study (clarinet and voice), I do not recall ever being touched for
any reason, ever, beyond an light touch to my shoulder or arm. As for
indicating where diaphragm support, et al., comes from, simple
demonstration by the teacher was sufficient, with the occasional use (by
voice teachers) of a mirror.
