I have had good experience with Performer's Music in the Fine Arts
Building. Nowhere near the selection (though frankly better
organization) but they do emphasize classical music over pop.

In fact, up to now, if I wanted recorder music I went to
Performers'. If I wanted student-type solo stuff for clarinet
or methods/study books, I went to Carl Fischer. If I wanted
"serious" chamber music, I tried both but usually ended up doing
mail order.

(who has no direct connection with Performers', but knows several
people who have worked part time there).
