I also received my Legere reeds this week. I'm undecided whether or not
I want to keep them, though. It seems at first blow they are great.
But as you play them longer (even though you wipe the spit, saliva,
water, condensation, whatever you want to call it off the back) it seems
they become more and more unresponsive. They blow like a 2 by 4 after a
60? minutes.

Ben....something is definitely wrong. If anything the Legere reeds seem to get
a little softer, maybe thinner sonding after a couple of hours of play.

I would check to see if your mouthpiece table is flat. Some mouthpieces, like
the old Wells mouthpieces, have a sunken spot in the table, to make the reed
feel springy. Maybe this could affect the reeds. Maybe your facing is uneven
and it makes you pinch more and more as you play. Something is definitely
wrong, though.

Have a mouthpiece guy look at what you are playing on. The Legere reeds are a
different material. They will NOT act the same as cane in all situations.

Hope this helps
