I tried one briefly recently (I am currently playing Rovners on both
clarinet and legit alto sax). Initial impression: I did not like the
plate that holds the reed by 4 little points (odd since the Otto Link sax
mouthpieces I use for jazz alto and tenor sax have such plates and I like
them fine). It just seemed stuffy to me. The other two plates were OK,
but the one that suited me best was the one that had two rails parallel to
the reed, like a Bonade. But since I can get that sound and feel for the
price of a Bonade...

If you have to mic a saxophone, the rest of the band is too loud.
