I'll pass on a great piece of advice- when you start working with a tube of cane make one reed, being sure to label the tube and reed so you can match them up later. If you can make one good reed its a pretty good bet that the tube is good and will make more. If it is just bad cane- it should compost fairly well. That way you waste a minimum of time. Thanks to Dr. West for the gist of this.
