One of my students had her clarinet resting on a chair when a fluorescent
light decided to fall out of its casing; the light landed on the clarinet
and broke. The instrument seems to have survived the impact from the
glass OK, but I'm concerned as to whether fluorescent lights contain
chemicals that may be harmful to her. Any helpful observations* are
most appreciated.

*As opposed to observations such as: she is now enlightened; the fluoride
should make her teeth really really white; aw, lighten up!; and so forth.
