How many clarinet quintets are out there? So far, I know of 3: Mozart,
Weber, and Brahms. I am sure that there are others, though. Also, can
you indicate which clarinet is usually used to play each piece (ie. A
clarinet for Mozart, Bb for Weber and Brahms). Lastly, is it possible
to play these pieces without a string quartet? It is difficult to find
string players where I live, so I am wondering if the string parts can
be played by perhaps a woodwind combination of some sort (3 flutes and a
bassoon, maybe, or possibly 4 flutes)?
