Triancinolone is a steroid, and comes in a cream, gel, or ointment. Steroids
do reduce symptoms of the canker, but only if used when they first start to
appear, and then only some of the time. Also, a steroid of that strength on
the oral mucousa can sometimes cause problems. But if it is used under a
doctor's care, and it works, go for it. There are much more effective
medications for cankers (I get them, so I try to keep up with the
literature); however, they have a pretty intense side effect profile and so
are only used with AIDS patients, transplant patients, or cancer patients,
who have almost intolerable pain from the cankers (aphthous ulceration's in
the jargon)

My daughter has had great success with a medication to treat her canker
sores.
(the ones inside her mouth, tongue)
The medication is: Triancinolone. It is either a creme or gel. The
medication reduced the healing time greatly. We got the prescription from
our dentist who was willing to try it and wanted us to report back to him
its success......
