The current Yamaha would be the YCL-20. As I understand it, the keywork is
a close copy of Buffet's.

Of course, depending upon who you listen to, the extra maintenance
requirements for a wood clarinet range from very little to none at all.
Perhaps Phil Harris, the original poster of the question, has been scared
off by horror stories about cracking. I would suggest that wood clarinets
be considered. Remember, Buffet says DO NOT oil the bore. Outside of
watching the temperature and humidity changes a bit, what else is there
that is different?
