I have suffered from mouth ulcers or "canker sores" for most of my life. I used
to suffer with them especially during stressful times, such as exams or juries. I
have had different doctors give me many remedies or Rx's. Some of these include
having them (sores)cauterized(sp?) OUCH!, "Viscous" (sp?) mouth rinse and taking
an antibiotic. My dentist even recommends taking zinc or lysine tablets because
many of her other patients also suffer from these.

I would be cautious about the use of any herpes type drug for extended period
unless I knew what the long term side effects were.
