This has got to be my all time favorite show that I've played!

The music is rollicking and fun as is the show itself. Everything I like in a
plot is there: Love, sex, scandel, angst and fun. Everything I like in a
part is there: Great clarinet lines, hum-able melodies, lots of 3/4 waltz-ish
tempos...

I'll tell you a funny story about when I did it. The male lead, in order to
be credible, took cello lessons for the duration of the rehearsal time of the
show. The leading character is an eighteen year old boy who plays the cello
and there is at least one scene where he plays on stage. What is usually done
is the actor fakes playing on stage while the pit cellist plays the solo in
the pit, watching each other.

Well, these two, our stage actor and our pit cellist did a great job
coordinating this. (He played the actual part without rosin while the two of
them watched each other like hawks.) One day during the run, our pit cellist
was out shopping and she ran into a friend of hers who said, "You would not
believe the cellist I saw in a show this weekend! He was fantastic!"

Guess she didn't read her program very well...
