Dan,
Never played it but I did buy the recording. David Krakauer is
sensational in it. I liked it but I felt it was rather overwrought, a
little too long for its material and, frankly, as I am a Klezmer purist,
annoying in its fusion of Klezmer style and 20th C. "classical" music
composition. It definitely has worth but I was not bowled over by it. I'll
bet, however, that an audience would go nuts for it.
