Mr. Pyne was a model of politeness and composure when he responded
to your email, where he would have been fully within his rights to
be upset about the unnecessary implications you made about his work
and his materials. It's impossible not to read betweeen the lines
of your statements -- pick an email, any email -- the insults are
so thinly veiled. It also seems a little backward to have a nov-
ice in any field leveling critical remarks -- explicit or not --
at an acknowledged veteran of that field.
