Regarding the posting about Aida, I too noticed the error of placement
for the first performance. However, there was a partially accurate
element to the assertion. The first performance in Italy was in Parma
as Av suggested.

And where did El Paso get a live elephant, one is forced to ask?

And did the live elephant perform the act that caused Sir Thomas
Beecham to say, "Disgraceful manners, but a brilliant and observant
critic!"?
