I have always thought that the idea of having each band director picking
students for an honor band made no sense. Certainly, some schools will have
large numbers representing them and some schools may have no
representatives. But this is as it should be if all schools or all bands
are not equal. It's a cop out! To me, if it's done that way, it shouldn't
be called an honor band.
