Subject: Looking for Suggestions for Travelling Horn
Message-ID: <a7f7bfc9.36bf6fa5@-----.com>

>I hope some list members can give me some advice. My husband and I are
beginning to plan a 2-3 week vacation in London, Southern/Western England=
,
and
maybe Wales in late May/early June (dates very tentative). We understand=

that
the climate may be quite variable in terms of temperature and humidity. =

Since
we'll be travelling around a lot (by car) -- probably not more than a day=

or
two or maybe three per city -- I'm very reluctant to take my R-13. <

Ravel,

Temperature will be variable, probably not more than 55 - 75 degrees, and=

humidity will be high most of the time. No problem if your horn is used t=
o
those conditions, but if you live in a dry region, eg Colorado or Arizona=
,
the change would not be good for it. Change is more relevant than absolut=
e.
However, the bumps from travelling, and the very real danger of overheati=
ng
in a locked car on tour, plus the risk of theft, would also make me very
reluctant to take a new clarinet on a touring holiday.
