I can't speak about "Jean Baptiste," but E.M. Winston and L.A Sax horns
sure share an awful lot of design similarities, as well as their cases, to
be anything but stencil siblings, even if they are assembled in the US out
of Taiwanese parts. Actually, I am quite happy with my Winston soprano.
For the price, it is a great doubling horn. The design is basically Selmer
copy, but at a fraction of the cost. From what I've seen, Taiwanese horns
are not at all bad when compared to Chinese ones!
