Joe Sax is a reputable repair person and he's right. With Soprano saxes,
as with eefers, you will not get ANYTHING decent in a student-line
instrument. It really isn't worth it to get anything cheaper than a
$700-800 Evette or Jupiter or some such. I actually have a Jupiter which
is surprisingly good. I don't think I could play solo classical on it but
I certainly could manage in a Jazz situation and maybe even in sax
ensemble.
