I asked a hand surgeon friend of mine about knuckle popping and possible
damage to the hands. He told me that once he had a young boy in his
office along with the mother. The boy popped his knuckles and the mother
exclaimed "Please tell my son to stop doing that because it will give him
arthritis!"

The doctor told the mother "I can't do that, because popping knuckle
won't give you arthritis." My friend then went on to assure me that he
knew of no damage caused by knuckle popping.
