I never auditioned for District, rather was chosen by my band director -
30 + years ago. When I got to District, there was an INTENSE audition
for chair in each section. First couple of chairs went to Regional. At
that time, I believe there were 4 regions in PA, each made up of a number
of districts. This Regional was called "State" Band. I never went any
farther although I made Regional 3 years in a row in high school. I
don't know if there was a next step up. It's been fun reminiscing about
this!

It's called regional all state band (and there are 6 of them!!). Kinda dumb
name if you ask me - it is not the whole state, so why have state in the name.
