Jason, are you talking about a PMEA district? This is so uncharacteristic of
anything PMEA does it leaves me thinking that this is some other
organization.

I'll reply to 2 different messages. Yes, I'm in a Phila. suburb. (I teach
adjunct Woodwinds for Univ. of Penn.)
Karl, PMEA has different guidelines for different areas of the state. There
are even areas in PA. where in 7th grade you can audition for districts
(senior level)!! Is that unfair or what!!! I was originally from
Virginia (in 9th grade was in 1978 All VA. Band with Luis Baez ((I was the
only one with a plastic bundy)) and moved to PA in 10th grade. That was
back in 1979.
