Dear Marty, we have to see that how much water is in the reed. Explaining
better, we have to see that the reed must have to work wet. The level of
that doesn't matter, because, as I got with my research, the water or saliva
won't affect the reed, but, if you keep a wet reed in a closed place we will
have microorganisms that will make easyly(?)to the reed's life die.
I realy believe your product works but I am afraid about if will be accept
as a standard for another people. First because some will says that the
reed's sound will change; another will say that don't work(belive me, some
will say it); another will say the reed will be better; and anothers will
say the reeds became worst. You never know. Is very hard(or impossible) to
get only a good view.
As I already say, saliva or water don't affect a lot the reed, but what
affect is the way you use the reed.
Some people use the same reed until it dies. Another don't keep the reed in
a safety place; another don't clean the reed properly(BTW I use hydrogem
peroxide).
I am still belive that education about how to use reeds is the best!

Cheers

Fernando
