Here's a very quick follow-up to my own last message on this same subject.

To Ed and other klarinetists interested in the sax list, immediately after
I sent my last message, I decided to check for information about
rccarter_saxophone on the Indiana University web site.

Here is the URL for the "IU Saxophone Studio Official Home Page":
<http://www.music.indiana.edu/som/saxophone/>

When I followed the link to "Other Saxophone Resources on the Net," I found
this:

Mailing Lists

North American Saxophone Alliance Electronic Discussion List

NASA's discussion list is available to any current member of the North
American Saxophone Alliance. To subscribe, send a message to
listserv@-----.edu that has as the text of the message :
subscribe NASA YourFirstName YourLastName.
You must use your real name in order to be added to this list. You will
receive a confirmation that your subscription request has been received.
You will receive another message containing more information about the use
of the list when your subscription has been processed.
Note: To join this list, you must be a member of NASA.

Robert Carter's Saxophone Mailing List

Rob's list is open to anyone with internet e-mail access. To subscribe,
send a message to majordomo@-----.edu that has as the text (NOT the
subject) of the message:
subscribe rccarter_saxophone <your e-mail address>.
Do not include any other information in the body or your message will be
rejected. If you have questions regarding this list, you can contact Rob at
rccarter@-----. NOTE: Please only send in one subscription
request--this list is maintained by hand and sometimes it takes a few days
to process the request.
========= End of IU Extract =========

This is Mitch again. I also followed a link to Adrienne Welker's home page
from an old administrative message. It says nothing about the sax list.

Bottom line: If the IU sax web site can be believed, the list is still
active, just not very busy. The NASA list that I mentioned in my previous
message also still exists and still requires membership in the North
American Saxophone Alliance to be a subscriber.
