Subj: [kl] Competition of players of various States

I had a student who moved last summer to Connecticut, and just found out
that he got 3rd chair All-State Connecticut (now 9th grade Alto Sax player,
Senior division). In Pennsylvania, he would have had a really hard time
(probably would not have made it) making even the District level on Sax,
more or less Regionals or States, as I had some players who were more
advanced then him who didn't make it. He has not yet found a new teacher in
Conn. (tried 3, but did not like them)
Interesting.....
