I had lunch with a recent Buffet convert (from another major manufacturer)
recently. This was someone I respect, and one of the few people I know who
have spent any time recently trying the different Buffet models (as well as
other brands). He had spent a lot of time with the different models and ended
up with a pair of RCs, finding the intonation more to his liking. He also
praised the intonation of the festivals as well. He didn't say much about the
R-13s, but their virtues are well known. The relative virtues of the RC eflat
clarinet are well known.

The best advice is to find somewhere with a large selection of all concerned
and just pick the best overall horn.
