There are a tremendous number of songs, madrigals, etc. that come from that
era, with a great many published. In fact, most instrumental music from that
era were simply adaptations or variations on popular songs (the gap between
classical music and popular music just did not exist at the time).
Greensleeves most definitely is an Elizabethan song, written by that most
prodigious of composers, Anon.

A very good place to start are the songs of the lute player, John Dowland,
all of which have modern editions. They are also all available on CD's. He
was by far the most popular composer of lute songs at the time, many which
would have gone platinum by today's standards.

Getting info on Dowland will certainly lead you to many other attributed,
and unatributed songs of the period.

Unfortunately, none of these guys wrote good bass clarinet parts either
(ref. to Dan's Bach comment).

Good luck,

Steve Goldman
