Roger, I know we already went around once on this subject regarding
Buffets, but I say again, if additional post-factory undercutting and
adjusting is required to make an instrument play in tune, the workmanship
is not at all good, by definition, regardless of how beautiful the
instrument might look. Note that this is not a comment on Howarth
clarinets -- I have never even seen one before. But if improperly working
products of ANY kind leave the plant that way (assuming they are properly
designed, of course) that means shoddy workmanship to me!
