Just a clarification - when I posted to the list, I explained I tried out
the Howarths at the ClarinetFest - as many as they had there - I believe
there were five or six available. I also said that I felt they were very
nice instruments - but the ones I tried out had severe problems in some
areas of intonation.

If Howarths can be adjusted, undercut, etc. to play in tune - and those
people who perform on them have found that to be the case - that is great
news! My post was not an endorsement or a comparison - simply another bit
of information to throw on the pile and let others make decisions from.
Workmanship on the horns was quite beautiful, and the wood was
astonishingly pretty.
