I use Encore and have in various versions for a few years now. It is
logical, well thought and very easy to use. It allows for transposition
part extraction from full scores and also automatic rest calculation on the
extracted part. It does not however allow for scanning in of music. I have
tried a programme called Cappella which has this feature but in all truth
the recognition software is not all that good and I quickly became
frustrated with it.

Incidentally the version of Encore I have is 4.1 there may be a later
version. I think I read on the net that Passport who write the prog were in
difficulties but have been saved by another company, can anyone enlighten me
on this.
