Hello musical & family friends, can anyone help me with a travel
question? I am taking my two boys to Paris for a stay this August, and
am stymied in my efforts to choose a hotel. I will be grateful if
anyone who knows the city could read on and provide advice.

Three hotels at similar rates, that seem attractive, are:

Hotel PALMA. 46, rue Brunel, 17e, near the Palais des Congres between
Avenues des Ternes and de la Grande Armee.

Hotel KEPPLER. 12, rue Keppler, 16e, between Avenues Marceau and d'Iena.

Timhotel JARDIN DES PLANTES. 5, rue Linne, 5e, opposite the Jardin des
Plantes, where rue Linne meets rue Cuvier.

Slightly pricier is REGENT's GARDEN Hotel. 6, rue Pierre Nemours, 17e,
just north of Avenue des Ternes.

Does anyone know any of these hotels? Have any of you stayed at one of
them?

Does anyone know any of these neighborhoods?

Are any of these locales particularly good or bad to visit with children
aged 10 and 14?, the older of whom has two years of middle school
French.

Can anyone suggest a best or worst choice amoung these Hotels?

In case any one protests that this posting is inappropriate for this
List, be aware that we shall visit the new Musee de la Musique, which is
rumored to have a fabulous collection of historical woodwinds on
display. And I hope to visit a seller of antique woodwinds, or two.

Many thanks, (and I am happy to provide feedback about the Hotels and
the Musee on our return),

Robert Howe
